The Alliance Health Project is an active participant in the community. We work with other community organizations and events, stage fundraisers, and create forums and workshops on topics relevant to the people who depend on us.

The Power of Story—HIV/AIDS Writing Workshop

Thursday, May 14, 2015
Light Dinner (free): 5:30pm / Workshop: 6:00pm to 8:30pm
1930 Market Street, SF, (Between Duboce and Octavia)

We all have HIV/AIDS stories, some we have told and some we have never shared. Stories help us make sense of our experience, and can change over time. The narrative process promises unexpected discoveries, new connections, and often, healing—for ourselves, our families, and our communities.

Please join David Fredrickson, author, psychotherapist, and AHP volunteer group facilitator, in a writing workshop designed to express and discover healing through words. All are welcome regardless of your relationship to writing. This guided workshop will encourage your journey. It will honor every participant’s unique story within a supportive group experience.

“Each of us has a truth as unique as our own fingerprints . . . speaking truth heals . . . anything true is beautiful.”
—Rachel Naomi Remen MD

Join us for an evening of elegance, art, fine wine, gourmet food, famously inventive cocktails, the performance of our charismatic auctioneer Patrick Walsh, and a great time to enjoy meeting a community that defines itself by its love of art and its desire to help.

AHP is committed to supporting the health and wellness of all members of the communities we serve through workshops and other activities that bring community members together in one space. Past workshops have engaged topics such as Dating, Relationships, and Sex; Body Image; Embracing Being Single; and Aging.
