Leave a Legacy

We live in uncertain economic times and funding for health care and for HIV programs continues to fail to meet the needs of people with HIV and those struggling to remain uninfected. To provide a stable and regular source of funds, the UCSF AIDS Health Project has created the AHP Endowment Fund, which will help ensure that AHP’s critical work continues despite this uncertain climate.

The AIDS Health Project Endowment

AHP is an internationally known organization dedicated to improving the mental health of both people living with HIV and people at risk of infection. For more than 20 years, it has provided expert mental health and substance abuse care to San Francisco residents and has been recognized by agencies such as the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for developing an array of pioneering programs that have been replicated in other communities.

In 2003, Mercedes Hotle donated what has become the cornerstone gift for the endowment. We were so inspired by Mercedes’s generosity that we have created a Legacy Fund within the endowment in honor of her life and her gift and a web page acknowledging the gift.
